I Guess I Overthink Things!

Acrylic Nails!!! What is the point?? Sure, they make your nails look mighty fine and they do add a bit of 'look at me' but why would you do it?

I do like them and think they are classy, but as I was looking at someones nails today I couldn't help but examine the glued on piece of acrylic. So you have a fingernail (real) and then glue and finally the acrylic layer that looks like a fingernail. I just don't understand. If you just look at them for long enough, you'll start to see the oddness of them. The fake nail itself is the color of your skin, blending in with the real nailbed. It is not only acrylic glued to your body, but a half inch further from your finger filled with white hanging from your fingernail. Why would you want this..it's harder to type, write, and do day to day activities. Plus, it adds more dirt and germs to your fingers!

I will admit, I am a victim of fake nails. They do make your hands look nice, however who had the will-power to invent this sort of thing? And why did ladies run with it and make it socially acceptable. Individuals go out of there way to make themselves beautiful. Some things, I just don't understand.
